Newsletter 27th May 2016

Dear Parent/ Carer,

Our Year 4 pupils have been on residential to Robin Wood this week and return later this afternoon. It sounds like they have had a wonderful time! After the holidays we will be taking many of our Year 6 children to London for their residential.

Congratulations to our year 5/6 cricketers who put on a superb display finishing joint top in their pool during a competition at Hunslet on Tuesday. Our team produced some exceptional cricket both with the bat and in the field. For more information and photos visit our PE and sport blog on our website.

Unfortunately the fashion show on the 6th June has been postponed due to a lack of interest. We hope to reorganise it for later in the year.

We say goodbye to Miss Friar today as she leaves us to take up a new post. We wish her all the very best for the future!

We are also very pleased to tell you that Miss. Lambert is expecting a baby in the Autumn Term. We are thrilled for her!

Please also remember that we break up today for half term. We return on Monday 6th June.

Have a lovely week,

Mrs Harris

Dear Parent/ Carer,

Our Year 2 pupils have taken their SATs this week. We are all so very proud of the hard work and determination shown all week. They have all tried their very best in tackling these very difficult papers and questions.

This afternoon it was so lovely to see all the learning our year 5/6 pupils have done. This will be their last one for our year 6 pupils and a very well done to them!  Thank you to Miss. Gascoigne and all staff in the phase for all their hard work in producing the Assembly and to everyone that attended this afternoon! We really hope that you enjoyed it.

It is the PTA fashion show on Monday 5th June at 5pm, it would be lovely to see you there and also we would love it for some of the children to model the clothes. Please send your ticket requests into the office and let us know of any willing volunteers. It is also our Year 4 residential to Robin Wood on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Due to the number of complaints re inconsiderate parking on the Rowans we may have to close the gate permanently which will inconvenience those parents who live on the estate. Please think about where you park.

Please also remember that we break up for half term next Friday until Monday 5th June,

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Harris

Dear Parent/ Carer,

We had a very productive PTA meeting on Thursday after school, many thanks to those of you who attended. We have manged to plan a number of future events and we look forward to working together on these.

Our Year 6 pupils take their SATs next week. We are all so very proud of the hard work and determination shown. We wish them all the very best and staff will be serving them breakfast each morning before the tests.

Congratulations to our exceptional footballers, who represented the school at Hunslet Boys Club on Tuesday night. Pupils across the phase competed in a fun competition, where 3 teams impressed with their skills and teamwork. For more details please visit out PE and school sports blog http://robinhoodpe.blogspot.co.uk/.

We welcome the lovely sunshine and warmer weather, however, we know that this also means that many of us suffer from hay fever and require medication, could I please ask that children are given this before school and not bring this into school as we are not able to administer any medicine.

Enjoy what promises to be a sunny weekend!
